Orchestra Curriculum
The orchestra curriculum is centered on learning to play an instrument well in an orchestral setting. The orchestra will study a varied repertoire of music: classical, folk, fiddle, movie theme, and popular style. The course will also include composition, music theory, music history, and music appreciation.
Why Orchestra?
“Playing an instrument enhances a child’s quality of life. It provides creative, emotional, and social opportunities and can lead to improvements in academic performance in other areas beyond music.”
“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician.
I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music.
I see my life in terms of music ...
I get most joy in life out of music.”
